Established in 1994, Harwill has developed a strong reputation in the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) markets for expertise in the specialised field of combustion engineering. This involves not only designing and manufacturing but also maintaining boiler plant and other heat source equipment. In recent years, it has focused particularly on the air conditioning market and building facilities management.

The tie-up with Alfa Laval Ltd provides Harwill with another, very specialised string to its bow. As well as being a leading manufacturer of plate heat exchangers, Alfa Laval also has Europe’s largest and best equipped workshops for the highly-skilled job of reconditioning and regasketting plate heat exchangers. It is this facility that Harwill will now be able to offer its customers in the HVAC market.
According to Lynda Hannam, Harwill Engineering’s Sales Director, ” this association will benefit both companies. Harwill will be able to offer our customers state-of-the-art facilities while Alfa Laval will draw on the expertise and experience we have developed in the HVAC market in the North-West.”

Lynda added “We are very excited by the opportunity this liaison gives us all at Harwill, the fact that Alfa Laval a large well known, and prestigious, global company approached Harwill with regard to this agreement brings an added degree of prestige, esteem and good will to our company”.

The new arrangement gives Harwill the substantial opportunity to develop their expertise and support for existing clients as well as the potential to open up new markets. It brings an addition range of complimentary products to Harwill’s already substantial product portfolio, and makes available additional machining facilities.

Harwill, are a company with a fierce pride in their local roots and they will continue to offer a doorstep response to local businesses, built up on their in depth knowledge of local industry. Lynda explains, “The new relationship will give us the ability to offer a smoother and more efficient response to emergency situations and a faster spares turnaround to customer response with 95% of spares on next day delivery.”

The company sees this as an opportunity to expand the operations which are based locally with more back-up, and development of the collection/delivery service. It is anticipated that the new arrangements will lead to the need to increase staff in the near future.
